5 Things To Know Before Starting Your Business.
So, you want to be an entrepreneur! That’s awesome. Here we are, at the forefront of a digital age of society who also inhabit the world of social media. We are all connected; all linked together by images and hashtags. But for us who want to shape the future for ourselves and others, business has a plethora of opportunity to do so. It’s entirely possible to be a visionary who paves the way with new and exciting ideas. Innovations that affect lifestyle. But you need strategy. You need goals. Because without either, your business will virtually fall nowhere. There will be zero impact and all that passion and talent gets thrown to the wayside. Don’t fret or get discouraged. Here are some helpful tips when creating a game plan to project your idea forward. Mind you, these are critical notes if you want to leave a lasting impact without blindly entering the entrepreneurial life without zero clue of what to do.
ONE. Be Curious and Creative
I think we can all agree that most of us like watching movies, shows, scrolling through vibrant Instagram photos. What do they have in common? Well, if they’re any good, they’ll leave an impression. They’ll spark inspiration. Same thing goes for business. You can still maintain an advantage while being influenced with other creative ideas. There are so many driven people hoping to break out into business. It doesn’t make you any less authentic to use other talent for your brand’s influence. By the way, no true artist has EVER said, “I'm inspired by no one.”
TWO. Be Impact-Oriented
If you’re a true creative and entrepreneur, you’re not just in it for the money. (Sure, money is super nice. And you’re not putting in all this work for free) But furthermore, you want to create an impact. You want to change something for the better, change awareness, values and attitudes, thinking and behavior. Impact oriented. Remember that phrase. Making a difference in the world. Might sound idealistic, and maybe even corny. But having a vision means nothing if you don’t want it to affect people’s lives. The best strategies are visions, and the best strategies are impact strategies!
THREE. Strategy needs to be a meaningful process
You need to care about your brand. Turning over profit is a vital component of a successful business, but banking everything on financial incentive is not sustainable. Strategy involves passion. It should hold meaning to what message you want the world to know about.
FOUR. There is no such thing as overnight success
Sure, it’s what we all dream about. But there’s a saying, “overnight success takes years.” Even though it might take months, it still doesn’t just fall in your lap without you lifting a finger. You need to look at your business in the same light as a fitness goal. For those who are like me and hate patience, I totally get it. But obtaining that level through dedicated time is the most rewarding feeling. To see those numbers increase in your checking account, or to watch the numbers decrease on your scale…it’s worth the patience.
FIVE. Manifest
To use the Law of Attraction, consciously decide what you want, and then you use the tools of imagery, emotion, and repetition to tell the subconscious mind to find it. You might be surprised that you can program your brain into attracting what you want. Remind yourself what you desire. Write it down. Ruminate on it. Repeat it to yourself and others. The subconscious part of your mind will cement it and intentionally propel you to do whatever it takes to make that goal a reality. Yes. There is actual psychology that plays a role in manifestation. From a business perspective, internalizing your aspirations along with hard work and a positive attitude is another weapon to arm yourself with.
